In Memoriam

FDL founder, Dustin Keith Rougeau was born on March 12, 1989, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Dustin and his family moved to Wyoming when Dustin was in high school. He resided in Sheridan, Wyoming, and had a love for the Bighorn mountains, where he became an avid outdoorsman and golfer.

In high school, he excelled in his baseball and football careers. After graduating from high school, Dustin was offered a football scholarship at the South Dakota School of Mines in Rapid City, South Dakota. On top of football, Dustin was very determined to become a civil engineer.

After graduating from college, Dustin moved back to Sheridan and worked for Larry Bridger, PE/LS, with Bridger Field Services, who became a longtime mentor throughout Dustin’s career. Dustin moved on from Bridger Field Services with a great deal of knowledge in the Civil Engineering and Surveying industry, as well as obtaining his Professional Engineering License. He started his own engineering firm, Fleur De Lis (FDL) Consulting, in 2016, which became very successful, providing Engineering and Survey in the Oil and Gas industry.

One year later, business was booming, and Dustin decided to hire Getty Babbitt as FDL’s 2nd employee. After working together for 2 years, Getty became a partner in the then 6-employee firm.

Adding Architecture to the consulting firm, specializing in Residential design, FDL grew the Architecture, Engineering and Surveying.

Dustin Rougeau passed away in October 2021 from Ewing Sarcoma.

Dustin was dedicated to providing a credible reputation through a high standard of quality products and hard work. With his passing, there have been and will continue to be, many changes.

FDL will continue Dustin’s dream by growing FDL Consulting. By maintaining client relationships and keeping a reputable presence in Wyoming, we plan on advancing FDL’s future in Dustin’s honor.
